Summer and Sunflowers at Flavour First Farm

Experience Our Local Seasons
Nestled in the countryside just outside Donaghadee, Summer at Flavour First Farm is a celebration of nature, flowers, family and farm life.

As we move into the latter part of August, the farm is changing with the season and so are our opening dates. After Sunday 16th August, our opening times will change:

Nature always works to its own timetable and, as we move towards the end of summer, the farm will naturally look a little different from week to week.
There will be fewer sunflowers as the season progresses, alongside an ever-changing mix of seasonal flowers, planting and countryside to enjoy. Admission will be reduced from 22nd August to reflect this changing stage of the season.
Wander along the farm pathways, see our much-loved Highland cows grazing peacefully nearby, say hello to our playful pygmy goats and three little pigs, explore the Maize Maze and discover our enchanting Fairy Village, lovingly created by our chosen charity, Action Mental Health.
Along the way, browse Liane Radcliffe’s beautiful photography exhibition, admire locally inspired merchandise and crafts, enjoy homemade refreshments from The Potting Shed, or simply find a quiet spot in our dedicated picnic area and soak up the peaceful surroundings.
Whether you’re visiting to fill your camera roll, spend quality time with loved ones or simply reconnect with nature, Summer at Flavour First Farm is about experiencing the countryside as it really is.
The flowers change. The landscape changes. And every visit offers something a little different.

Before You Visit

Pick Your Own Flowers Pick Your Own flowers are available from designated areas throughout the farm. Choose from seasonal blooms including dahlias, gladioli, sunflowers and more. Flowers are priced individually (maximum £1 per stem) and can be paid for at the Pick Your Own Pay Station in the Hoop House. Please bring your own snips. Please do not pick flowers from fenced-off areas.

Picnics & Refreshments

You’re very welcome to bring your own picnic. We’ve created a dedicated picnic area for visitors to enjoy. Please note that seating within and outside The Potting Shed is reserved for guests purchasing food or drinks from us. A delicious selection of teas, coffees, cold drinks, traybakes and seasonal treats will be available to purchase. Please dispose of rubbish responsibly or take it home with you.

Weather

As this is an outdoor farm experience, opening is weather dependent. Should adverse weather make it unsafe to open, you’ll be able to amend or transfer your booking quickly and easily through your Beyonk booking confirmation. This decision will not be taken lightly, but only when essential in order to preserve our car parking area and pathways.

Accessibility

Accessible parking is available close to the entrance for Blue Badge holders. Many areas of the farm are accessible, although some paths are bark-covered, grassy or naturally uneven as they form part of a working farm. Please note there are currently no level access toilets on site.  Throughout the summer we’ll also be hosting Accessible Evenings on selected dates. These quieter sessions will be advertised in advance. If you have any accessibility questions before your visit, we’d be delighted to help.

A Few Friendly Reminders

  • Most visitors spend around 90 minutes exploring the farm.
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads. Please clean up after your dog.
  • Please respect the flowers, wildlife and farm animals.
  • Dispose of rubbish responsibly or take it home with you.
  • BBQs and open fires are not permitted anywhere on the farm.
