If you purchase an adoption pack that includes an exclusive 30-minute meet and greet session, you will get to meet with your adopted Highland cow, and her crew – an experience that is perfect for up to four people (one of which needs to be an adult). During this private encounter, you’ll be introduced, have the chance to hand-feed her (safely, with a gate between you for your peace of mind), and capture precious moments through photos. While we can’t guarantee direct petting within the pasture due to their large horns, our experienced staff will accompany you for an opportunity to get up close for some fantastic pictures.
Now, for the fine print on your adoption adventure:
- Your adoption is valid for one year from the date of purchase, with the option to renew for ongoing Highland cow joy.
- Please note that if your adopted animal is unavailable during your adoption period, we’ll happily provide another delightful farm friend and their package.
- Remember, adoption doesn’t imply ownership, but it does promise a year of joy and Highland cow magic!
- If you purchase an Adoption Pack WITH a Meet and Greet, please note that you will have to pre-arrange your visit and this will take place between April-September.

About Iona: Step into the enchanting world of Iona, a stunning Highland Cow with the classic, gorgeous red colouring that makes her stand out in the herd. Born on the 10th of September in 2020, Iona joined our farm when she was just 6 months old, capturing our hearts instantly with her teddy bear-like appearance.
Iona quickly established herself as the herd’s sweetheart, exuding charm and endearing herself to all. Her distinct curved horns and long, tousled fringe add to her captivating Highland charm.
Personality: Iona is more than just a pretty face; she’s the herd’s social butterfly. With a big, attractive personality, she enjoys being the centre of attention and making her presence known within the herd. Her journey into motherhood began in April 2023 when she welcomed her first calf, a charming little bull, and in November 2024 anoher beautiful bull arrived.
Dietary Delights: When it comes to meals, Iona enjoys a wholesome diet of grass, hay, silage, and plenty of veggies. For a special treat, she adores hand-fed potatoes or carrots (safely, through the security of a gate), although those majestic horns remind us to handle with care.

Being a bit younger, Murren possesses a shy demeanour, but once she feels at ease, her friendliness shines through, albeit with a hint of timidity compared to her more outgoing companions, Skye and Iona. This adorable calf loves to admire people from a distance before warming up to them.
Distinctive Features: Murren’s charm lies in her endearing shyness and absolute adorableness. Her blondie hair, envy-worthy even to hairdressers, sets her apart and adds a unique touch to the herd.
Personality: As the more reserved member of the herd, Murren prefers to take her time getting to know people. Despite her initial timidity, she is incredibly friendly and warms up to admirers once she feels comfortable. Her sweetness and charming personality make her an irresistible addition to the farm. - Visits must be pre-arranged using the voucher and are only available on specified dates provided by us.
- Meet & Greets are not available during the Sunflower Event in August.
- Visits outside the designated time frame are not permitted.

Please note that for your safety, handfeeding will occur with a gate separating you and the cattle. If feasible, our staff will accompany you into the pasture for photos; however, we cannot guarantee proximity or petting within the pasture due to the cow’s large horns. Safety is our priority, and the cattle’s unpredictable head movements make it crucial to prevent unintended injuries. Remember, all meet-and-greet sessions must be pre-booked, ensuring a delightful and secure experience for everyone involved.
The fine print:
- The named individual on the certificate is the official adopter, and the adoption cannot be transferred or refunded.
- The adoption period is valid for one year from the date of purchase and is renewable if desired.
- All inclusions within the adopted package must be utilized within the specified adoption period.
- Adoption does not confer ownership of the animal.
- An animal may be adopted by more than one person, fostering a sense of shared connection.
- In the event that your adopted animal is no longer available at the farm during your adoption period (e.g., due to the animal’s passing or other reasons), you will be offered another animal along with their corresponding package for the remaining duration of your adoption.
